Update #2: An update to iStations was released via iTunes in 10/12. This update was primarily a compatibility update for iOS6 (and is therefore not applicable for iStations for Android). Also changed in this update was the removal of the background image on the app's main screen, making it appear more similar to the Android version.

This update included an updated appearance with increased image quality for retina display and it added an option to specify a default e-mail address (& cc/bcc address) on a per screen basis (screen 1 & screen 2) via settings. Speedy Dial!

Differences may include...

* Layout differences / color differences. Note that a dark theme (which is possibly power saving) is used. (Android) (Also Note: On Android devices, items may expand or shrink automatically based on available screen space and text length)

* Speed Dial Buttons Differences: Width of speed dial buttons is not fixed. Buttons are solid colors rather than gradient images. Text color is white. Default color is same for all buttons. Buttons do not contain outline or rounded edges. Text on buttons may not scale up/down, and may appear with ellipsis (...). (Android)

* Dialing Panels: Center dialing panel may contain 'Settings' button for new Settings screen. Access to dialing modes available on center panel (only). Help button is on center panel (not or right or left panel). Center panel labeled at top. Buttons to left of speed dials (which may expand/shrink) may contain only speed dial numbers. Text is aligned left. (Android)

* Dialing Modes: Up to three dialing modes may be available (device permitting). (Android)

* Color Override: Ability to override color settings on panel-by-panel basis. (Android)

* E-Mail: Ability to generate e-mail containing speed dial and setting information. (Android)

* Edit Screen Differences: Different layout / different labeling of buttons. 'Insert Current Values' button no longer necessary as current data is automatically inserted into fields. Both a name and a phone number are required to save data to a speed dial. Preview button not available (this was primarily needed for a color sample but colors are now displayed in swatches at bottom of screen, plus it is not possible to get an accurate button preview as data from other buttons can affect appearance of buttons - e.g. column width/amount of text displayed). No dialing from edit screens. Different color choices for buttons now available (white now excluded since the text is white) / more color choices may be available for buttons. Color wheel replaced by buttons (swatches displaying sample of color). Color saved automatically upon selection. Possibly less restrictive input for phone number. No auto-formatting option. Color swatches replace area for 'retrieve from contacts' data (if applicable, additional numbers may be viewed by pressing the 'Next' button). 'Reset' button will now restore button color to default settings. New and/or different dialog messages/notifications (including new notification regarding unsaved data, notification re: text length). No exit button (use device's 'back' button instead). Some differences with 'retrieve from contacts' feature (e.g. standard type button labeled 'Select', activation of 'Next' button when more than one phone number found for contact, data automatically inserted into fields upon selection, etc.). (Android)

* Selection Color: Text for item selected may change to gray color to indicate selection. (Android)

* Column widths/layouts: If applicable, items may expand or shrink automatically based on available screen space. [Note: The Android system has control over the width of columns and column width may change significantly when the screen is redrawn. Speedy Dial! provides only general instructions to the system concerning column widths, but the final decision on appearance is left to the Android system. Note, however, that the user may optimize appearance by following various guidelines. Although the Android system handles how the screen is drawn and Speedy Dial! has limited control, the app presently comes with at least three (3) separate views for the main panels to attempt to optimize the display for users with smaller or larger sized devices. Your device will choose which one to display (Speedy Dial! doesn't control this decision). Depending on the choice made, the layout of the screen may vary somewhat (e.g. the smaller view may condense various elements, the larger view may use a larger text size for some text). Again, the decision of which view is used is up to the device, NOT Speedy Dial!] (Android)

* Possibly different behavior: Some items may behave differently (e.g. ability/inability to return to app after dialing, display of system messages, functionality of dialing modes, etc.). (Android)

* Various messages may be handled by the system (e.g. when device is in 'Airplane mode'). (Android)

Also...

* Feedback: 'Haptic feedback' may be enabled (Android)

* Access to help file does not check online connection (Android)

* Help File: Help contains link to access current version information. Button color samples are excluded from help file (they are no longer needed as color samples are provided directly on edit screens) (Android)

* No 'close' or other buttons for help page (Android) [Note: Use device's back button to close]

* App may be brought to foreground in a different state (Android) [Note: To avoid this occurrence, use the device's back button to return to the app's main screen]

* Versioning: The first released Android version of Speedy Dial! was 1.01 (rather than 1.0) since it contains new features not available in version 1.0

Also note that there are inherent differences between the platforms that are not app specific.
